A&M-Texarkana Student Life Department Preparing For Annual Halloween Trunk-n-Treat
TEXARKANA, Texas – Texas A&M University-Texarkana’s Office of Student Life is busy preparing for the university’s annual public Trunk-n-Treat event scheduled for the afternoon of October 31, 2024. The event, which takes place on the university lawn, features dozens of tables with games for families to play, with each table run by university athletic teams, student organizations, and other campus offices and organizations. Several thousand pieces of candy will be given away as prizes. The event is free and open to the public.
This year’s event is scheduled from 4:00 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. on Halloween and all participants are invited to stay on campus for the men’s basketball team’s season opening game scheduled for 5:30 p.m. The staff and student volunteers from the office of student life are already preparing the thousands of pieces of candy that will be given away at the event and are excited to have community guests on campus.
“Working with student leaders to host the Trunk-n-Treat each year is always so much fun,” said A&M-Texarkana Director of Student Life Celeste McNiel. “The students do a great job of hosting fun activities and decorating their tables and it’s so cool to see how it seems to grow in the community each year. This year Halloween happens to fall on the day of our men’s basketball team’s home opener, so we have adjusted the times of the Trunk-n-Treat slightly to encourage everyone to attend that match up against Dallas Christian,” McNiel added. “There will be some fun activities and candy during the game too!”
