International Studies Office
The Texas A&M University-Texarkana International Studies Office (ISO) seeks to provide global, international experiences for A&M-Texarkana students and faculty by offering opportunities for student exchange and study abroad programs, faculty exchange and collaborative research, and increased partnerships with international institutions. It seeks to continue to maintain A&M-Texarkana’s competitive role in meeting student participation and success goals via a culturally, politically, and ethnically diverse student body. In doing so, one of the main goals of the ISO is to increase the number of international students at A&M-Texarkana. We strive to create an environment that enhances the academic experience of international students and scholars by providing them with guidance and support, advocacy and programming to the A&M-Texarkana campus community.
The Texas A&M University-Texarkana International Studies Office (ISO) was created in the spring of 2014 with three initial components:
- Intensive English Program (IEP)—a two-year program including college preparatory courses and the bridge option for college admission.
- International Student Recruitment with initial focus on Latin American countries in which Spanish is the native language. Recruitment will be at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
- International University Partnerships for short and/or long-term Faculty Exchange, Student Exchange/Study Abroad, and Collaborative Research.
