American Rescue Plan (ARP) Funds (HEERF III)
As part of the American Rescue Plan (ARP), Texas A&M University (TAMUT) received a total of $2,713,463 in Higher Education Emergency Relief Funds (HEERF III). In order to receive this allocation, we signed and returned to the Department of Education the Supplemental Grant Funds for Students Agreement and the assurance that the institution has used, or intends to use, no less than 50 percent of the funds received under Section 314(c)(3) of the ARP to provide Emergency Financial Aid Grants to students.
For the ARP Student award total of $2,713,463, awards for Fall 2021 of $1,521,501 were paid to 768 students were paid in the quarter ended September 30, 2021. We are currently working on a strategy to get this money into the hands of the students that need it. A total of $1,190,700 was awarded to 1,077 students in Spring 2022. On March 21st we had $9,312 remaining in ARP funds and split that between 13 enrolled students who met the application deadline for the Spring 2022 awards but were not enrolled at the time initial awards were made.
Using ARP Institutional funds, awards of $660,134.62 were made to 455 students in the quarter ended September 30, 2021 to pay off Student debt owed to the University.
